Craving a jolt of JOY?

What’s the current rating on your joy meter? 🌟

If it’s not as high as you’d like it to be, I've got somethin' special for you: my latest Outgrow the Grind podcast episode, where we embark on a 38-minute journey of joy, embodiment, creative expression, and community!

In this episode, I had the pleasure of hosting Kellita Maloof, a trauma-informed, award-winning Performing and Teaching Artist and Conscious Burlesque Mentor, lovingly known as the Showgirl Shaman.

Kellita and I at the San Francisco Carnaval Parade last year.

We talk about how the grind is systemic and can affect us from a young age, as Kellita reflects on her childhood worry list and the tight grip it had on her attention.

We also explore the importance of allowing ourselves the time and space to feel, since our emotions provide us with the most accurate data about ourselves that we have.

Kellita shares her personal journey towards dance and how she shifted her focus from her weaknesses to her joy. She emphasizes the practice of joy and pleasure, particularly within a supportive community.

We also discuss the transformative power of creative and healing arts, as Kellita reveals her "gateway drug" into this fulfilling career. (This part will definitely make you smile!)

I open up about my own experience of dancing in San Francisco's Carnaval parade, where the joy and connection I experienced outweighed any initial fears or doubts.

Here I am with two of my fellow Hot Pink Feathers showgirls just before the parade started.

We even touch on the intriguing connection between orchids and highly sensitive people

Are you ready to embrace more joy and connection (both within you and with others)?

Listen to th podcast episode on Apple Podcasts here (and anywhere else you love to get your podcasts!).

I hope you enjoy this empowering conversation and find inspiration to nurture your own joy and self-expression too.

Delight yourself and you delight the world.

Wishing you more joy,

Stacy
